Scrollworks 4 Progress Report - August 29th, 2020

Good morning. I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday.

It was a busy and productive week with more scrolls getting done every day. Check out the numbers -

• Glyph of Warding - 151
• Ice Storm - 221

Total - 2,964 (+227 since last update)

At this rate, scrolls will be finished in about two weeks. For reference, it will take about 3,550 scrolls to complete this campaign so we are just over 500 scrolls away.

Maggy over at Red Stick Studio is moving along nicely on the folios. I would share an image of her progress but it seems that Kickstarter is being super glitchy this morning. You can get a look at a few shots on the Red Stick Studio Instagram page. I do know that there have been some delays on folio work due to the fires in California, some of the dyeing is done outdoors and that can be difficult when it's raining ash. Maggy is committed to getting these done though so a September wrap up is still what we are aiming for.

That's what I have for this week. I'll continue to update as we move toward the finish line.

More progress over the last week, but nothing prolific. Still hammering away. I'm always working on multiple projects and the past week has been dominated by other things. We are still on track, however, and getting closer every day.

Greetings everyone, I'm back with a more organized update. Things are going quite well and progress is occurring daily.

I'm pushing myself to have all scrolls finished by August 31st. I'm also coordinating with Red Stick Studio on the completion of the folios and will have some news on them next Tuesday. Shipping in September should be realistic.

Post Campaign Week 839 (or so it feels)

Hey all,

Very sorry for the lateness of this update. I have no good excuse for it. I tend not to post updates when not much is happening but I really should, even if they are boring (like this one will be).

The work continues on scrolls and folios. I'm still on track to ship in September even though scroll production has slowed over the last few weeks due to an injury to my hand. In hindsight I should have updated all of you when it happened. Long-story-short, I cut the tip of my left middle finger about 80% of the way through while slicing veggies in the kitchen. This put a full stop on scroll weathering because it takes both hands, slowed the painting way down, and made it a pain to type.

So where does that leave us?

Still on track to ship two months early, in September. I have scrolls in various states all over the place but don't have a current count. Give me one week to get organized and I'll hit you with a full update. I have created a reminder for an update every Tuesday going forward.

Things here at SKG HQ are moving along steadily. I continue to work on scrolls everyday and we are on track for shipping in September.

The Covid-19 shutdowns have made it difficult to source leather for the folios. May of the hides that Red Stick Studio has purchased via mail order have been returned for quality issues. The good news is that Maggy already had a supply of many of the needed materials and that leather stores have begun opening up for her to source hides directly after a visual inspection. As it stands, folios are still on track and should not impose any delays on shipping. We'll keep you updated if anything changes.
