Post Campaign Week 2

Hey all,

This week was another busy one with a variety of projects. Earlier this week I wrapped up the Faithful Hound art, tried a couple of different color versions, and hated it. It just didn't stand up to the quality of any other design I've done. This happens from time to time, I took a day away from it yesterday and this morning when I got up I tackled it again. Here's where we are so far -

This is definitely a WIP and tonight I'm going to sit down and do the lettering and probably just a little bit of painting. I'll show it off in next week's update along with the much delayed Fabricate design which I expect to start this weekend.

In the meantime, the funds have come through from Kickstarter and I will be able to start ordering scrolls from the printer early next week.

Hey all,

Just a quick update to let you know what's happening with the project.

The past week has mostly been catching up on all the things that I let slide while running the campaign. All of which are not related to your scrolls. I did however have some time to do a little work on the Faithful Hound scroll.

It has a way to go yet but I think it's coming together. In this case the hound is guarding a dungeon with the symbolic wizard in the chamber to the left. Background texture is just a placeholder and definitely not final.

Other than that, we are awaiting the release of the funds form Kickstarter. That should be in about a week. There has also been a flurry of activity from Red Stick Studio on prepping materials for the folios.

Necromancer Folios

I've had quite a few questions regarding adding Necromancer Folios after the campaign. There should be some available via BackerKit if you want to upgrade your pledge to Necromancer's Library but I have to look into the inventory tracking on BackerKit to make sure it will work in the way I hope it does. I should be digging into BackerKit next week and will keep you posted.

Abracadabra, you made this project a reality!

Thank you all for the support over the last three and a half weeks and for making this campaign a success. We are thrilled to get to bring you these scrolls and very excited to get the Scrollworks Folios out into the world.

Earlier today we unlocked our second stretch goal which means everyone backing at the Wizard's Library and above will receive a free Fourth Level Scroll Fragment.

As always with the Scrollworks projects, I intend to provide weekly behind-the-scenes updates as we work toward fulfillment of this campaign.

What Next?

While we await the release of the funds from Kickstarter over the next two weeks I will finish the designs for Faithful Hound and Fabricate. I will also begin designing the scroll backs so once we have the funds printing can start.

Lastly, I will be setting up BackerKit so you can finalize your orders, give us your shipping info, and pay shipping costs. There is a ton of work to do now and I'll bring you along for the ride.

Dirt

Fabricate makes 12

Hello again, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

With the voting in, Fabricate will be the 12th spell added to the collection for this campaign. I've got some pretty cool ideas for the design that I hope will work well. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.

We are coming up on the 48 hour countdown and have quite a few potential backers watching this campaign. Hopefully we'll have a nice backer spike and should easily unlock the upcoming scroll fragment and who knows, maybe we'll go way beyond. To help facilitate that for the last couple days I have added 10 more Necromancer's Library pledges, as we can confidently source enough material to make them.

Summon Greater Demon Art & New Scroll Voting

Hello all,

We are moving into the final week of the campaign and will be pushing hard on marketing to pick up more backers. We have a large number of watchers on this campaign and should have a nice spike in the final 48 hours. In the meantime, we have new art for everyone to check out.

I had been wanting to do a diptych in this campaign and these two spells, while quite different, shared themes that I thought would look cool together. Perhaps when cast as a single spell, these two scrolls will summon forth a balrog-level demon of fire and smoke.

I'm quite happy with how this turned out and I hope you all like it as well.

DIRT

Before I jump into the voting for the next scroll, I'd like to showcase a Kickstarter campaign by a good friend and regular collaborator of mine.

The creator of Dirt, Lars White, has been concepting this setting since last year's Zine Quest and is putting rolling it into a stand-alone RPG. I've worked on some of the illustrations already and once funded, the final product will be bursting with moody RPG imagery by yours truly. Check it out now.

Backer Picked Scroll #4 Voting!

Alright, time to add the final core scroll to the mix. Just a reminder, here are the spells we already have -  Arcane Eye, Banishment, Black Tentacles, Blight, Dimension Door, Faithful Hound, Ice Storm,  Phantasmal Killer, Polymorp, Summon Greater Demon, and Wall of Fire.

Here are the rules -

• 1. List ONE (1) spell you would like to see added to the campaign in the comments of this update.
• 2. The spell you vote for must be ARCANE
• 3.  The spell you vote for must be LEVEL 4
• 4. Only post/vote one time
• 5. Voting ends Wednesday, Feb 12th at 11:59pm PST.

If your spell comes from an obscure source, please list it. So far we    have mostly had core rulebook D&D and Pathfinder spells but if  the   votes are there... Anything is possible.

After the voting ends, I will tally up the totals and announce the winner in an update.
